The Governor Development Team at Peterborough City Council are looking for Clerks to Governors to support governors and leaders in schools within the Peterborough local authority area.

The role of Clerk is to prepare for, attend and minute governors meetings, in addition to delivering a full administrative and advice service to Governing Bodies in schools across the area.

The role is well suited to someone looking for flexible work around existing commitments or a part time role, which offers full training, an induction programme and mentor, as well as ongoing development opportunities at termly briefing and networking sessions with other Clerks.

Ideally, the successful applicants will bring experience of administration, being well organised and able to manage your own workload and deadlines.

Meetings are ordinarily late afternoon and evening, with the remainder of work undertaken from a home base. The City Council pays an allowance for use of your own computer equipment, telephone and internet connection.

Peterborough City Council places the highest priority on safeguarding. An enhanced DBS check will therefore be required, prior to confirmation of any appointment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
