An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children’s Social Care Practitioner to join the Assessment service for Peterborough City Council, an authority judged good in their last Ofsted Inspection.
The Assessment Service investigates concerns regarding a child or young person’s safety or wellbeing, makes an assessment of the risk and protective factors in the family and decide on the most appropriate course of action.
As a Children’s Social Care Practitioner within this service, your role will be to assist Social Workers in their duties to safeguard children. This includes:
- completing direct work with children to ensure their voices are heard and influences the plans formulated to keep them safe
- delivering interventions to children and their parents, to progress plans to reduce overall risk and improve outcomes for children
- chairing meetings with families and professionals
- co-working complex cases with allocated social workers
A key part of the role entails building effective relationships with children and families and working collaboratively with our partner agencies.
The successful candidate will have:
- A proactive and adaptable approach
- A passion for ensuring that Children and Families receive a positive and timely first experience of our service
- Experience of working within a social care environment.
