Further Information
We are seeking someone to join the School Admission/Children Missing Education (CME) Team, to undertake responsibility to investigate children and young people who are not in receipt of education.
We are seeking a dedicated team player, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with families who may have negative experiences of education. Your role will be to effectively engage them with the opportunities available, ensuring that they make a positive decision regarding accessing education for their child/ren.
You will be required to work alone, although you will have the support from the existing CME team, and the wider Admissions team, as well as colleagues from a wide range of services and schools. The skills you will need to demonstrate must include excellent communication skills and at interview you will be required to give examples, and a presentation on how you have previously reached hard to reach groups, successfully engaging them to adopt a new and positive direction.
In addition to communication, you must be able to manage your own time efficiently and carry out home visits to vulnerable and marginalised families on a very regular basis.
Travel mileage will be provided but you must have access to a fully working vehicle. Training will be in house, and the post is subject to enhanced DBS checks.
You must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of safeguarding practices and training will be ongoing for this.
In return we will provide training and support within a dynamic and fast paced Admissions Team. You will have access to systems to support your day-to-day delivery and in the first instance you will work alongside a colleague to understand the framework of the role. You will receive regular supervision which will involve case review/progress and reflection.
