Peterborough City Council are looking to recruit a Category Manager to provide additional procurement support to the existing team. The role will deliver a comprehensive compliant procurement service reporting to one of our three Senior Category Managers and will provide management information and category knowledge across allocated categories as well as contributing to the development of best in class procurement capabilities to help drive value and compliance across the council

This position will work directly with internal stakeholders and external providers to manage activities that deliver value for money and ongoing client support. As a Category Manager you will deliver continuous cost savings, performance and process improvement for Procurement and the Council. The procurement workload will be both strategic and tactical in nature and will spread across several allocated, but linked, categories.

Our Category Managers are responsible for the full end to end procurement process and are expected to become subject matter experts in relation to the categories managed.

You will either be working towards a fully qualified membership of CIPS or have at least 3 years procurement experience.

The role will be located from our main offices in the City Centre, but we operate a hybrid approach and you will find yourself working from home, our offices and other sites on a regular basis.
