Further Information
Peterborough Adult Social Care currently has a great opportunity for a Part-time [ 27.5 hrs] Care Support Worker to join them. We have a vacancy for a Care Support Worker within the Adult Early Help team & Prison team. In Peterborough we work in a person-centred way to improve the lives of our service users.

The Adult Early Help (Peterborough) team & The prison Team provide advice and support to anyone over the age 18 who is seeking care and support. We work under the “The Care Act 2014,” which sets out national eligibility criteria for both carers and the person being cared for. These criteria set a national minimum threshold to be met, and if a carer or the person being cared for meets this threshold, they will have eligible needs and AEHT will look at how these needs can be best met.

We are a team made up of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Care Support Workers and Care Advisors from a variety of backgrounds. We offer support to professionals, individuals, and to families and informal carers.

Through telephone calls Emails, or home/prison visits where appropriate, a strength-based approach is used to understand and appreciate an individual’s interests, aspirations, concerns and goals.

Existing networks of family, friends and wider community support are explored. A plan is developed using a strength based approach and focusing on what the individual can do for themselves, the provision of information and advice, equipment (Occupational Therapy and Assistive Technology), short term Reablement, voluntary sector support etc. Where long term social care is required, our conversation forms the start of the assessment process.

Now is a great time to join us and be part of this service. In return for working with us, you will have access to an amazing range of benefits including:

• Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 25 days per year + bank holidays (FTE) + option to purchase up to an additional ten days per year (FTE)

• Comprehensive pension scheme with employer contributions of 17.5% (current)

• Immediate life cover (x3 times your annual salary) and ill-health protection (applicable to those enrolled in LGPS)

• Flexible and hybrid working opportunities

• Discounted private medical insurance

• Access to a car lease salary sacrifice and cycle to work scheme

• Funded professional or subscription fees where qualification or membership of a professional body is an essential part of the role

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
