Further Information
Capital Projects and Assets Officer required to provide support to the School Place Planning Team. We are looking for a positive person, with a ‘can-do’ approach who can rise to the pressures within the team.
We would like to hear from candidates who have an understanding of buildings and premises and the operation of schools and school buildings and the knowledge and application of key legislation. You will have experience of managing multiple disciplinary projects on all types of buildings and developing briefing documents for new build and extension projects.
You will assist in the development of the schools capital programme (expansions and condition projects) to enable the Council to meet its statutory duty to provide a sufficient number of school places as an education authority.
Peterborough is a growing city with major urban extensions planned. Responding to the need for additional school places arising from new housing and the shifts in the existing population will be one of the key challenges of this role.
Highly developed critical thinking skills are required alongside a proven ability to implement and deliver complex and challenging solutions which are consistent with existing, new or evolving policy/procedure.
This is a 12 month fixed term post, with the possibility to extend.
For more information or an informal chat about the role, please contact Clare Buckingham at Clare.buckingham@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
We aspire for Peterborough to be one of the best places in the country for young people to grow, learn, develop and achieve – and one of the best places for colleagues to work and thrive in our education system.
We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
