You will need to have:
strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and engage a wide group of internal and external stakeholders to achieve a common goal
good analytical skills
excellent project and programme managing skills
excellent written and oral communication skills
proficient organisational and planning skills
an enthusiastic attitude and an eagerness to learn
an innovative and passionate approach to making a difference to the lives of older people, vulnerable adults and their families
All about our Team
The team enjoys an inclusive, supportive culture led by an experienced Strategic Brokerage Manager. The team consists of five Brokerage Officers, line managed by a Lead Broker. The Brokerage Team form part of the Adults Commissioning Team who are responsible for commissioning the services for the residents of Peterborough.
Brokerage Officers will work alongside Commissioners across a breadth of portfolios which cover care from providers of Learning Disability and Mental Health care, Domiciliary care, Care homes and Supported living settings. The work of the Brokerage Team is crucial for those members of our community who require care, and to support Commissioners in understanding the care market in the City, identifying gaps in provision where required.
In Peterborough we operate a ‘full cycle’ commissioning team, which includes both the commissioning of services and contract management. The Commissioning Managers manage and deliver the strategic commissioning cycle, from determination of need, planning and reconciliation to the council’s budget planning cycle, to delivery and management of contracts to meet identified need.
The Adults Commissioning team consists of a broad array of experience and exposure to Adult Social Care, both professionally, personally with some staff joining the team with no experience but the skills and drive to succeed in the role. The supportive culture within the team provides opportunities to develop, we look forward to receiving your application.
