A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to join our Assessment team as Service Manager. We are looking for a qualified social care leader with previous service management experience or someone who is looking to make the first step into a more senior leadership role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational day to day management of the 3 Assessment Teams in Peterborough and the Huntingdonshire Assessment Team for Cambridgeshire. This provides a unique opportunity to work across two Local Authorities as part of the Integrated Front Door and Assessment Service.

Peterborough has been rated a ‘Good’ authority by OFSTED and we provide excellent training and professional development opportunities. We acknowledge the benefits to staff of being able to secure a healthy work life balance and as such we continue to offer a hybrid way of working which includes the ability to work with your teams in purpose built offices in the centre of Peterborough.

The Peterborough Assessment Service has low caseloads and can provide a stable, committed workforce which creates a calm and safe place where social work practice thrives.

We can offer a strong collaborative and supportive leadership team, a dedicated and highly motivated staff group and clear and safe safeguarding practices. In addition to:

• Competitive salaries
• Generous annual leave entitlement
• Local Government pension scheme
• Significant training and professional development opportunities

If you understand and are focused on high quality service delivery to children and their families and can support staff to do a great job in difficult and challenging times we would love to hear from you.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
