Further information

We are looking for motivated and forward thinking managers to join us in Peterborough to drive the progress we have made in Childrens Services over recent years and to deliver innovative services to our children, young people and their families that makes a difference to them.

You will find we have a huge commitment to providing staff with exceptional levels of support which includes working hard to reduce caseloads, and offering both managers and practitioners the opportunities to develop as practitioners, recognised by Ofsted in July who found:

"Social workers have access to a range of training, including opportunities to progress as practice educators. They have time to spend with children, their visits are purposeful, and they capture children?s views about their lived experience. Social workers told inspectors that Peterborough is a great place to work."

We require an Assessment Team manager, where the core functions are to receive all referrals to Children's Social Care on a rota and to establish whether or not a Single Assessment (s17 or s47) is required. The team will gather and share information and liaise with referrers and partner agencies and provide feedback where no assessment is offered and provide a response that might include: the provision of information, advice and guidance; onward referral; or re-direction

? Organising, and conducting s47 Strategy discussions and ensuring that
partners are fully engaged and that the record of these is circulated in a
timely manner.
? Ensuring consistency and quality in the application of thresholds to decision
making within the referral and assessments undertaken
? Ensure that decisions are made within timescales and that workflow if
effective
? Provide oversight of Private Law proceedings (s7 & s37) which are
