An opportunity has arisen to appoint an Apprentice Gardener –Grounds Technician at Peterborough Crematorium which is owned and operated by Peterborough City Council
We are looking for a person to be part of a small team providing the highest level of customer service to bereaved families, visitors and stakeholders alike.
The main duties and responsibilities of the post are to carry out horticultural duties in the crematorium grounds including grass cutting; planting; hedge cutting; pruning and maintenance of roses and shrubs; weeding; leaf clearing and watering of plants.
The successful person will have the experience, or desire to work, in an amenity or horticultural environment with the commitment and motivation to attend a local college one day a week to study and obtain a City and Guilds – Level 2 Award in Work – Based Horticulture.
You will be a good team player and have the ability to operate garden machinery. Experience of dealing with the public in a professional and sensitive manner will be an advantage, combined with an awareness of the environment in which you will be working.
