We are looking for someone who is keen to join the fantastic team of staff in our Regional Adoption Agency and if you want to be part of influencing and shaping the development of the new service, then this could be the right post for you.

The new Regional Adoption Agency launched on 1st December and is a joint venture between Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council bringing together the very best of both authorities’ capabilities, talent and experience across the region.

Our adoption services have been rated good by Ofsted and our aim is to deliver an outstanding service to adoptive families and introduce practice innovations in all areas of our work.

We are dedicated to the needs of our children who are in need of adoptive families and we have an ambitious agenda to improve the adopter experience and levels of support for families all the way through our service, including our Local Offer to Special Guardians.

The Agency Advisor is essential to our continuous improvement journey. Working with other experienced managers in the Regional Adoption Agency and Independent Reviewing Officers, the successful candidate will proactively strive to improve the quality of practice within the service to achieve the best outcomes for our most vulnerable children.

This post provides the right candidate with a fantastic opportunity to consolidate their skills in team and panel management, with responsibility for ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Panel with the support of dedicated and experienced Panel Administrators. You will work closely with Panel Chairs and Central List Members to make sure robust arrangements are in place so that each panel can discharge the business on the agenda effectively.

You will play an integral role in bringing together the best panel practice, developments and opportunities from across both authorities as well as ensuring that the Central list is reflective of the diversity of children and families living in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring that all panel members are appropriately experienced and qualified, receive training and an annual appraisal. You will also facilitate effective post panel Agency Decision Maker discussions, with responsibility for ensuring the quality and completeness of all paperwork submitted so that timely decisions are made for children.

To be considered for this post you must have comprehensive knowledge of Adoption services and permanency work, and experience of operating at a Senior Practitioner or Team Manager level. You should be passionate about supporting social workers to develop a greater understanding of adoption work and in implementing evidence based practice.
