Social Work graduates our Adult Social Care services want you!

If you’re looking for an innovative and supportive employer to start your social work career with, then Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council is the place to be.

We’re recruiting now to the 2022 cohort of Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) in their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough's Adult’s services.

We have opportunities in a range of services including:

- Transfer of Care
- Adult Social Care Team
- 0-25 including Children with Disabilities and Young Adult's Teams
- Mental Health

We offer an excellent package of support for NQSWs, building a strong foundation to your professional social work career, including:

• High quality, regular individual and group supervision
• A structured training programme
• Action learning sets to help you translate your knowledge and skills into live practice
• Support from a dedicated ASYE co-ordinator during your first year in employment, alongside your manager and ASYE assessor

We’re committed to innovative ways of working and welcome like-minded people to join our dedicated and motivated workforce.

Our roles are based across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Flexibility will be needed as to where you are deployed, to give you the very best ASYE experience.

To find out more information on our ASYE programme and what it's like to work for Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, sign up to our virtual event taking place on 24th March at 5pm

The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 3rd April 2022.

The cohort of teaching is planned to start in September 2022 and candidates are required to have registered with Social Work England in order to start their ASYE. However, you may be employed in an ‘unqualified’ social care role until your degree results are obtained after which you can then register with Social Work England and register to start your ASYE.

We’re proud to be an inclusive and equal opportunities employer, committed to hiring people based on attitude and merit, regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or beliefs, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
