A temporary vacancy is available from December within the adoption service. It is expected that this will be for a period of 12 months, although there may be the opportunity to extend this.
We are looking for a qualified social worker with a positive commitment to supporting the adoption service in all areas.
Peterborough adoption service is small, stable, enthusiastic and dynamic with an excellent local reputation. The last three years have seen both the numbers of children being adopted and the numbers of adoptive families increase dramatically. We have been especially pleased by the terrific response to our drive to provide Fostering for Adoption placements for young children.
The successful post holder will be involved in recruiting, assessing and supporting adopters and their families both before and after an adoption order. They will also be involved in family finding for children and have the opportunity to develop and take part in new and creative practice in this field.

The ability to travel both locally and occasionally further afield and to have flexibility in your working week is required as there is evening and occasional weekend work.
There may be an opportunity to be seconded to the team
