An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Resource Officer in the Access to Resources Team (ART) part of Specialist Commissioning within the Communities Directorate.
The Access to Resources Team co-ordinates and manages all requests for resources via the panel processes. All requests are brokered through ART.
Key functions of the Resources Officer role include:
- The operation of an effective and professional duty system for all resource requests
- Contributing to the effective management of placements for looked after children, for children requiring specialist education provision, financial commitments and other resources
- Providing a single point of access for social work/education professionals to access resources and support in order to effectively case manage and deliver the best possible outcomes for children/young people and their families.
- Reviewing and monitoring contractual arrangements between the local authority and external agencies/providers
- Negotiating with a range of providers to ensure best placement match within budget.
In order to carry out these functions candidates will need to demonstrate:
- An understanding of safeguarding and the assessment of risk in a variety of situations
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Confidence and ability to challenge assumptions and decisions in the best interests of the child/young person.
