The shared Children’s Commissioning Team is offering a 6-month fixed term contract with a secondment opportunity, to become an Access to Resources (ART) Officer for Children in Care, within Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council. There is a possibility this might become a permanent opportunity.

The role requires a candidate that;
- Thrives on challenges
- Delivers outcomes on time
- Demonstrates exceptional negotiating skills
- Has excellent communication skills
- Challenges assumptions and offers alternatives
- Ensures value for money
- Represents the service at multi-agency meetings/panels
- Is efficient, effective and highly organised
- Manages competing demands in a pressurised environment
- Has an eye for detail and excellent IT skills.
- Enjoys working as part of a high functioning team, and above all, is child focused.

The ART Officer is responsible for the commissioning of individual child placements for children who are in care, as well as a range of other service provision in support of vulnerable children and their families. The role requires the right candidate to be able to demonstrate effective time management skills, and a good understanding of the legislative framework surrounding the delivery of care services to children on the edge of care, and those children that are in care.

We are looking for a highly motivated, conscientious and commercially aware officer to join our team, able to demonstrate their understanding of the job role and the importance of working across professional boundaries to secure the best service/placement options for our most vulnerable children and young people.

This is a hybrid role but there is an expectation that you will work from Sand Martin House, Peterborough and/or Stanton House, Huntingdon at least 2-3 days per week.

Interviews will take place in the week commencing 24th October 2022.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
