The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Statutory Assessment and Monitoring Service (SAMS) wishes to recruit a Complex Case and Resolutions Manager.
This senior post, reporting to the Head of SAMS, will play a vital role in ensuring oversight and compliance regarding statutory SEND processes and will develop the scope and role of the SEND service response to complex cases in the wider context of children’s and adult services, ensuring robust data is used to inform policy and performance.
The successful postholder will lead a solutions-focused, person-centred delivery model and approach to decision-making, working collaboratively with both internal and external partners, including parents and young people with SEND. Managing and overseeing appeals to SENDIST on behalf of the service is a key part of the role, including representing the Authority at SEND tribunals. The postholder will be responsible for training across agencies regarding the single route of redress and SENDIST appeals, whilst guiding and mentoring all SEND staff in relation to complex cases, including mediation and tribunals.
