Are you a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist seeking a rewarding opportunity to transform lives?

We are actively looking for a motivated individual to join our team in Peterborough's Social Care, where your expertise can make a significant difference.

Why Us?
At Peterborough Therapy Services, we believe in the power of occupational therapy to enhance people's lives. Our focus is on early intervention and prevention, ensuring individuals can live independently at home for longer. As a part of Home Services Delivery, you will work in the OT team along with a wider team who provide additional services like Care & Repair and Reablement, empowering those facing challenges to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

Your Role: Community-focused and Rewarding
As a community-based Occupational Therapist, your role involves specialised assessments and interventions, utilising your skills to ensure individuals are safe and thriving in their home environment. If you have experience of working within health and are eager to transfer your skills to a community setting, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
This would also be an opportunity for any social care OT who is ready to progress their career.

You will have excellent communication skills at all times and especially where there are barriers to understanding, resistance or non-compliance. You will have transferrable skills that you can bring from your present role and ensure that your interventions are as holistic as possible taking into account all aspects of the person’s daily life. The main OT team works with adults including moving and handling, minor and major adaptations, Technology Enabled Care, Learning Disability, OT Duty triaging and prioritising cases, as well as some work for Children’s services within the home environment.

You will be supported by an OT supervisor to assist in your development and we are keen for you progress as a more autonomous practitioner. You will have opportunity to supervise junior members of the team. Continuing Professional Development is very important and is given as protected time and there are further opportunities for training. Training can be bespoke and will also be provided from the wealth of knowledge and expertise within the team.

We operate a flexible way of working over the week and there is no weekend working. We are mostly agile and work from home only using the office as an official work base. You will manage your own diary and will have a manageable allocation each week with no monthly targets. Part time hours will also be considered.

Join Our Supportive Team: Be part of a well-established team where respect, teamwork, and a supportive environment are crucial for success. We value you, and can provide a platform for career progression within a dynamic social care setting.
Seize this opportunity to make a real impact! Apply now and become an integral part of our early intervention and prevention team to enhance lives through occupational therapy.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
