Further Information
Do you have the desire, ability and expertise to assist in leading an enthusiastic and highly driven team to support young people and parents to enable them to have the very best outcomes?
The Peterborough City Council Behaviour and Inclusion service is a highly proactive and driven team that works with all educational settings to support and promote positive behaviour through inclusion. We are looking for a highly motivated, exceptional individual to take on the leadership role working across all Peterborough City Council educational settings including primary, secondary, special and alternative providers.
This a full-time role and will begin in December 2023.
Successful candidates for this post will have a strong understanding of commissioning alternative provision, monitoring permanent exclusions and suspension whilst be able to provide strong guidance and advice to all educational settings along with strong behavioural mentoring experience.
The post requires an interest in working with students with a wide range of behavioural and educational needs including emotional, social and mental health needs. The PCC Behaviour Team is a small but effective team that works closely with all school settings offering support to maximise the outcomes for those learners who are experiencing difficulties in their current setting.
There has never been a better time to work for our council. An explosion of growth is taking place in Peterborough which will benefit everyone who lives, works and spends time here.
Peterborough’s new university opened its doors last year, with phases two and three in progress, and a new government hub at Fletton Quays opened its doors earlier this year.
Plans are afoot for many other city centre sites, including the railway station which the city council has received £48million from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund to redevelop, and a new city centre hub and footbridge across the embankment, as part of a number of projects being funded by the Government’s Towns Fund.
Peterborough’s time really is now
Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
