Peterborough Youth Justice Team are excited to be recruiting for a Youth Justice
Officer to join the Service. Rated ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding Features’ in 2020 HMIP Inspection, the Team are looking for candidates with strong experience of working with children who have offended, victims and those at risk of exploitation.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent knowledge of current
legislation and procedures relating to Youth Justice and Children’s Services. They will also have an understanding of contextual safeguarding. They will be able to demonstrate knowledge of effective practice in working with this vulnerable group of young people and the ability to respond to the diversity needs of service users.

The successful candidate will also have knowledge of Children’s Social Care, Restorative Justice, and Preventative work.

The post holder will have substantial experience of working with young people and their families completing comprehensive assessments and working in a multi-agency environment. They will have the ability to work flexibly and creatively. This post is also eligible to access a nine-day working fortnight.
