We are looking for a motivated, committed, and experienced Engineer to join our Highway Development team at Peterborough, one of the fasted growing cities in the UK. As a growth city and unitary authority, you will represent the Local Highway Authority and be involved in all aspects of highway development control and work on development projects from the initial planning application right through to the delivery of new adoptable streets and associated projects on site, including new and innovative SUDS solutions.
This is a unique opportunity where there is always something new with opportunities for growing your knowledge and experience through on the job training but also formal structured training on new areas such as LTN1/20. The main duties involve providing specialist highway advice on planning applications from minor to major level as well as undertaking detailed technical assessment of Section 38/278 highway applications.
You must have the ability to analyse issues and identify options, have demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure, use own initiative and most importantly, be able to work as a member of a team.
Our friendly team are based at Dodson house which is easily accessed via the A1 and the superb parkway system as well as working from home days in line with the councils agile working policy. In addition to this we offer:
