About the role
As Service Director Corporate Finance you will support the Executive Director - Corporate Services s151 Officer with all areas of corporate finance and lead your Finance function across Peterborough City Council, providing vision and strategic direction to ensure high performance and improvement.
As one of our two Deputy s151’s we will look to you to provide a financial advisory service to all Directorates of the Council. You’ll manage and deliver the annual accounting process for the council’s budgets, financial plans and financial systems. You’ll also manage the Council’s Medium Term Financial Strategy, focusing on translating the strategy into financial plans.
About you
An effective manager of people and projects, you will be commercially aware and able to adapt quickly and decisively in complex situations. Your stakeholder management skills — with people both inside and outside the organisation — will be key.
You should be a fully-qualified accountant and member of a CCAB body with demonstrable CPD. You’ll be skilled at strategic leadership and operational management, and have a record of providing accurate, practical service information at senior level. Extensive experience of budget setting and management in a complex organisation will be key, and you should be adept at engaging partners and stakeholders in the improvement of service delivery.
