Further Information
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced occupational therapist to join our busy and friendly Therapy Services team in Adult Social Care.

The team focus is on promoting independence and well-being, through prevention and early intervention.

We visit people in their own homes across a diverse population who have a variety of health and social care needs.

You will provide assessments and recommendations on equipment, techniques and adaptations to achieve goals and support reduced care handling, and will work closely with our Care & Repair team to assess and problem solve to identify solutions for minor and major adaptations to people’s homes.

You would need to have experience in carrying out full holistic assessments on your own and have a positive approach to problem solving, along with good skills in clinical reasoning and be able to make sound judgements. Clinical supervision is well structured and the team are supportive and keen to assist with any training needs.

There are opportunities for developing your skills within Therapy Services whether this is in
growing expertise in an area of work such as moving & handling and Single Handed Care or Disabled Facilities Grants, or expanding some management skills in supervision. This post would be suitable for those who want to progress their career and feel that social care provides them with an environment where they can contribute to positive outcomes and facilitate people to live at home more independently.

For an informal discussion please contact the Therapy Services Manager on 07415624919 or email: carol.farrar@peterborough.gov.uk

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
