Further Information
Peterborough has ambitious growth plans, which are matched only by its determination to ensure that we create an environment where nature and people thrive, and businesses prosper.
The Senior Wildlife Officer is thus essential in delivering a key role in providing advice on all aspects of nature conservation policies, ensuring the effective proactive conservation of the natural environment of Peterborough. You will work alongside an existing Ecologist offering specialist professional advice within the context of planning applications and offering you creative opportunity to help prepare the council for the introduction of mandatory BNG. In addition, the role will advise on, support and encourage community participation in, the management and promotion of local natural environmental issues, working with land-owners to secure permanent improvements for wildlife habitats
You will need to be suitably qualified , as this is a senior role, and a thorough up-to-date knowledge of appropriate legislation in relationship to Ecology and Planning/development processes are essential. We are shortly going to start our local plan review, so the timing could not be better for you to ensure that nature is put at the heart of the ambitious growth agenda at the onset, ensuring the fundamental success of the local economy and to the quality of life and well-being.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
