Further Information
Are you an experienced Team Manager with a background in either Adult or Children’s Social Care Services, or interested in a progression opportunity?

The Peterborough City Council (PCC) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager to join theTransitions Team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be based at Sandmartin House in Peterborough, although some flexible working / working from home will be an option.

The Transitions team sits within the 0-25 Disability Service, providing all statutory social work services to children, young people / adults and their families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities up to the age of 25. The is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in gaining further experience in a new area of Social Work. Although the Team Manager role is within PCC, the 0-25 Disability Service sits across PCC and Cambridgeshire County Council (CCC) and as such you will have a close peer support network of the other 6 Team Managers, who have a range of experiences and backgrounds across both Adults and Childrens Social Care.

The Transition Team is busy, lively and interesting and would ideally suit a Manager who is proactive and adaptable, and who has a passion for ensuring that the young people transitioning into Adulthood with complex needs in our area receive a positive experience when having their needs met. A Team Manager in the service should be strong and supportive and provide good quality support and guidance. Additionally the service offers a range of opportunities to develop further professionally across the adults, children’s and SEND agendas.

The Teams manage cases through children's and adults safeguarding, children in need, court proceedings and children looked after and completes mental capacity assessments and is responsible for community deprivation of liberty and court of protection work. The service works across all children's and adult legislation including the Children Act, the Mental capacity Act, the Care Act and Children and Families Act.

The work is complex and interesting. It is varied on a day-to-day basis and allows for a high level of multi-agency working, creativity and autonomy. The service would welcome applicants from a varied background in either adult and/or children's social care, as all social work backgrounds and skills are relevant and transferable to the service for those with an interest in developing new skills and knowledge around disability and complex needs.
