Further Information
Peterborough Pathways supports families to do things that many of us take for granted – a trip to the town, a visit to a play park, going swimming, or maybe just being a friend.

‘Support Worker’ isn’t up there with ‘Astronaut’ or ‘Racing Driver’. But we thought ‘Transforming the Life of a Child with Disabilities’ was a bit long.

One of our team told us:
“Young people with learning disabilities need to be given opportunities”

“It can be difficult to turn off at the end of the day when you are so involved with a young person, it’s not like leaving the office and turning off your computer. But, although challenging, the role of Support Worker is a truly rewarding role and no two days are ever the same. I truly love my job”

Flexible availability is essential for this role as it will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, school holidays and split shifts.
Are you ready to take on the challenge?
Not convinced yet?
In return we can offer the right candidate:

• Opportunity to accrue annual leave dependent upon shifts
• Increase of pay increment within first year
• Opportunity to join LGPS (Pension Scheme)
• Access to in house and external training
• Opportunity to undertake the National Diploma Health & Social care level 3 with support (funded)
• Supportive Team
• Mentoring by experienced members of team
• Regular 1:1 and Group supervision
But most of all
• A truly rewarding career

We asked a member of our team for the real low down on the job, please see additional documents to see what he said

For further information, an informal chat about the position or to come and meet the team please call Claire Watts 07983 345578

This is a rolling campaign, and we will review applications daily so please don't wait for the closing date to apply. Candidates will be progressed shortly after they apply, and the opportunity will be filled as soon as we identify a suitable candidate, which may be before the closing date. So please don't hesitate, we want to speak to you now!

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
