Further Information
Are you interested in helping adults in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to positively engage and interact with their local communities for as long as possible?

Do you have transferrable skills that include partnership working, designing services with service users, Microsoft Office skills and project planning?

The Adult Social Care Commissioning Team is recruiting a Commissioning Officer to support the review, design and commissioning of services for people who live in our communities.

The Commissioning Team look at the services that are being paid for by the local authority and how well they are being delivered in our communities. We aim to understand where we can make improvements by speaking to service users who receive support, as well as the providers who deliver the support. Once we have a good picture of what is being delivered and areas for development, we come together to design a solution that can deliver high quality, effective care for the residents of the Council. We then procure the provision, from running tenders and evaluating bids, to implementing the contracts. Once in place, we then support the monitoring and review of the service provisions, to ensure we are delivering the desired outcomes.

The post holder will assist and support the team to ensure that designated projects and programmes are developed, commissioned, maintained and delivered to support effective
outcomes across the council. You will be required to provide project and programme support as well as commissioning and business administrative support, including managing and analysing data for monitoring, reporting and service redesign purposes. You will also assist in the production of reports, quality improvement activities and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.

If this is something that interests you and think you would be a good candidate for, then we want to hear from you.

If you have:
- the ability to work with a range of people to achieve a common goal
- strong interpersonal skills
- good analytical skills
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- proficient organisational and planning skills
- an enthusiastic attitude
and an eagerness to learn and want to make a positive difference to the lives of older adults and vulnerable people, this could be the role for you.

Please note that this role will be employed by Peterborough City Council but will be part of the wider commissioning team which works across both Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

The role will involve mostly home/remote working with occasional travel to our offices.

Should you have any questions or would like an informal chat about the role please contact Tara Mackey Commissioning Manager on 07789927900

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire/Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
