The Targeted Youth Support Service (TYSS) is a new and innovative service focused on offering a range of specialist services to young people aged 13-18 and their families who are in need of additional support. Our teams include NEET, Community & Interventions, Youth & Family and Youth Offending. During the recent HMIP Inspection, Peterborough Youth Offending Team were rated overall Good with some Outstanding areas, with the report referring to our “skilled and experienced group of operational staff who are committed to delivering high-quality services”. The inspectorate team described “a powerful sense of purpose within the team and an impressive balance....between the sometimes conflicting demands of meeting children’s needs and managing the risk of harm to others that can result from negative behaviours.” This excellent outcome is testament to the dedication and commitment to young people by the team who continue to set high standards and work to further develop existing areas of practice.

The Youth Offending Service is a multi-disciplinary team delivering services to prevent and reduce offending behaviour amongst young people. A vacancy is available for a casual worker to provide support for those young people needing contact predominantly at the weekends and during the evenings. This is a casual post where staff will be required to provide availability at weekends and during weekday evenings.
