Further Information
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Therapy Services Team at Peterborough City Council.

Ideally you would be someone who has experience of working with people, from a healthcare or social care setting with a flexible and holistic approach to support the therapy services team, which includes occupational therapists.

The aim of Occupational Therapy is to allow individuals to function at their optimum level in daily life. This allows people to manage as independently at home as possible and for as long as possible. Occupational therapists enable people to achieve what really matters to them. The aim is to reduce the reliance on health and social care services by enabling the residents of Peterborough to live and age well in their communities.

You would work in the community visiting people in their own homes and assessing & providing specialist equipment and minor adaptations under the supervision of an occupational therapist. We are looking for someone with a caring nature and a willingness to learn and develop. You will need to be flexible and adaptable and have great skills in communicating with people.

There is also a requirement to undertake delegated administrative tasks that assist the Occupational Therapists and contribute towards the effective running of the Department.

You will have good communication skills, excellent personal management and problem solving skills. You will be able to prioritise your workload independently working under the supervision of the therapists. Previous experience in a health care or therapy setting would be advantageous but comprehensive training will be given to achieve all of the required competencies. There will also be opportunities to participate in training sessions.

We support flexible working and full or part time hours are considered. Although the main office is at Sand Martin House in Peterborough this job allows you to be agile and regularly work from home.

If you are looking for a rewarding and interesting job in a supportive team, where you can really make a difference then please contact Carol Farrar, Therapy Services Manager carol.farrar@peterborough.gov.uk for an informal chat.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
