Levels 3-5 depending on teaching qualifications £23,948.99-£32,192.01 pro rata.
We have a great opportunity at City College Peterborough to become a key member of our Community Learning team.
As a community English tutor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering English and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) to serve Peterborough’s diverse communities.
This exciting role will involve planning and delivering English and formal ESOL courses across a range of levels to adults over 19 and families in a range of community settings such as schools, community centres and faith centres, supporting learners in a positive and engaging learning environment.
English and ESOL learning work best with communities and families when they are contextualised with enjoyable, motivating learning and every day, real-world tasks such as filling forms, attending appointments, reading with children, or creating healthy budget-conscious meals. You will therefore need to be able to design imaginative and engaging programmes that deliver high quality-teaching and learning while improving learners’ language and literacy skills.
The job role will also include contributing to the continued development of the department by acting as the first point of contact to partner organisations hosting the courses and to learners attending them.

The successful candidate will need to have previous experience in delivering English and ESOL classes, preferably in community settings. A professional teaching qualification is essential and preferably, a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert. TESOL Qualification level 5.
