Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council are launching a new Care Academy initiative, inviting you to become a qualified Reablement Support Worker. You will benefit from a comprehensive training package, all whilst earning the full salary for this role. No prior experience in care is required, we just need to see that you have a positive, caring attitude and good ‘people skills’.

This programme will offer the right candidates a chance to benefit from experienced professional guidance, full training, a funded qualification and continuing professional development. The full salary for the role will be paid from the first day of training. You will be training in a group of new recruits, with designated learning time to complete your studies and earn your qualification, as well as on-the-job learning with experienced colleagues.

There is the opportunity to work in different locations across the county and travel within those areas is required. You therefore must be a car driver and have access to a vehicle.

So, what does a Reablement Support Worker do?

Our reablement support workers help people regain their independence by motivating and inspiring people to re-learn daily skills, maintain their independence, and enhance their quality of life, whilst remaining in their own homes.

You will be fully trained to assist our service users to meet their care needs, which can range from motivational support to personal care.

You will work to individualised goal plans, with the aim of encouraging service users to do these things for themselves, wherever possible. We also promote and supply assistive technology equipment to help people with maintaining their independence.
