PCC Grade 7 £22,183 - £25,481, 37hrs per week (full time) permanent, 52 weeks per year.
We have an exciting opportunity within the Complex Needs Service as a Behaviour Support Lead. We are looking for someone that has the energy and enthusiasm to work with Adults with Learning Disabilities some of which have behaviours that may be considered challenging.
This role is a senior position, entailing planning and delivering MAPA training across City College Peterborough (training will be provided) and to support staff in areas of best practice.
You will need a good understanding of the restraint reduction network standards and the key legal and professional considerations of restrictive interventions, in respect of supporting staff to understand how and when to use restrictive interventions.
You will lead on and contribute to the development of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Plans and take an active role in MCA assessments and Best Interest decisions.

You will work to promote a person-centred approach of independence and empowerment of people using services. You will assist with the planning, facilitating, and evaluating individual and/or group work within the Complex Needs service as determined by individual development plans, supporting less experienced colleagues to prepare for and run sessions for individuals.
You must be prepared to work with people who are often emotional and unpredictable in behaviour and be able to use negotiating skills to enable a person to fulfil their needs and be as independent as they can be according to their care plan and physical/mental health situation. You will have an awareness of issues facing people with learning and/or physical disabilities. You will have effective inter-personal skills such as negotiation, assertiveness, and verbal communication. You will have the ability to use initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and alone on base or in the community. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations.
