We are looking for a Driver/Support worker with D1 driving licence to work in Day opportunities as part of our team at the Kingfisher Centre in Bretton, that has the enthusiasm and flexibility to support individuals with learning and physical disabilities and autism in a variety of settings to promote independence skills. This is a rewarding and satisfying role that would suit anyone looking for a new challenge.

You will be responsible for the safe transport of adults with disabilities to and from our service and support them in a range of sessions and community activities.
You will work alongside other team members to support individuals with all aspects of personal care, to ensure all individuals are able to maximise independence.
You will work to promote a person-centred approach of independence and empowerment of people using services. You will work with supported people in order for them to achieve their full potential through goal-centred care plans, and proactive case monitoring.
You must be prepared to deal with people who are often emotional and unpredictable in behaviour and be able to use negotiating skills to enable a person to fulfil their needs and be as independent as they can be according to their care plans. You will have an awareness of issues facing people with learning and/or physical disabilities and autism. You will have effective inter-personal skills such as negotiation, assertiveness and verbal communication. You will have the ability to use initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and alone on base or in the community. You will have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations.
