We have an exciting opportunity for someone with proven leadership qualities, enthusiasm, and extensive experience of Social Work with children and families to join us as the Principal Child and Family Social Worker for Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council.

As part of the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance shared service, the Principal Child and Family Social Worker is the professional lead for social work in Children’s Social Care, and is seen as the champion of best practice and the voice of the Social Work task force. The post holder will be actively involved in front line practice and be an independent voice of the Social Work task force, reporting their views to all levels of management. With a primary goal of ensuring that all social work adheres to social work practice guidelines and the highest level of professionalism, the post holder also delivers case scrutiny and learning from audit and case reviews.

You will have extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and guidance and have a sound knowledge and extensive experience of Children’s Social Care. You will also need to hold a recognised professional social work qualification and be Social Work England registered.
